Photographer Bio

Based in Kolkata, West Bengal, Vivienne Sarky is a photographer and editor with an ongoing portfolio of 14 years in the art industry. She approaches photography as an act of translation. 

The image becomes the medium through which a work is archived, catalogued, published and exhibited. 

She has worked with art galleries, cultural organizations and auction houses such as Experimenter, Emami Art, British Council, Gallery Art Exposure, Delhi art Gallery( DAG), Nature Morte, Birla Academy of art & Culture, Indian Museum, Indigo+Madder, TRI Art and Culture, AstaGuru, and more. 

She has documented installations at notable art fairs including India Art Fair, Art Mumbai, and Bengal Biennale. She also works with independent artists and art collectives. 
Specialised in documenting artworks (ranging from paintings, sculptures, textiles, artist books, and more), historical artefacts and objects, publications, she also captures installation images, outdoor installations, and architectural setups. 

Using state-of-the-art equipment and detail-oriented approach, she takes on commissions across the country.
